A construction consultation is a preliminary verbal conversation about a proposed project.

 

It may take place by telephone or on site and is intended to discuss the project in general terms, identify the client’s immediate objectives, and determine the most appropriate next step.

Master Contractors provides a free initial consultation so prospective clients can explain what they are planning and receive general direction before committing to a professional service.

 

The conversation may include general information about construction methods, project stages, typical approval requirements, available services, and broad pricing considerations.

The free initial consultation is the only service Master Contractors provides without charge.

 

Any work that requires reviewing drawings, examining project documents, preparing calculations, researching site-specific requirements, developing a scope, producing pricing, coordinating consultants, visiting a property for technical evaluation, or providing written recommendations is a paid professional service.

What A Free Initial Consultation Includes?

The free initial consultation is a verbal discussion conducted by telephone or, where agreed, on site.

 

It is intended to help Master Contractors understand the general nature of the project and help the client understand the available paths forward.

During this conversation, the client may describe the proposed construction, the property, the intended use, the current stage of planning, and any known concerns.

 

Master Contractors may explain the general construction process and identify which professional services may be required before the project can proceed.

The consultation does not include document review, design work, project planning, written advice, estimating, quantity take-offs, permit research, feasibility analysis, or preparation of a construction proposal.

 

Those activities require professional time and are provided as paid services.

General Pricing May Be Discussed

The preliminary verbal conversation is the only service Master Contractors provides free of charge. This policy applies whether the initial conversation occurs by telephone or on site.

Every service that requires professional work beyond that conversation is paid.

 

This includes Design Services, Architectural & Permit Drawings, Construction Planning Services, Construction Cost Estimation, Estimating & Quantity Take-Off Service, Building Permit Services, Design-Build Services, and Construction Project Management.

This structure allows the initial conversation to remain accessible while ensuring that professional services receive the time, analysis, and accountability they require.
